The name's V...

I'm beautiful in every sense of the word physically. But on the inside, I'm a black pit.

If you're expecting a happily ever after, a white picket fence and 2.5 kids; then this isn't the story for you.

There aren't any happily ever after in the works for me or those whose lives I poison.

I hold the key to my pleasure and I'll be damned if I ever give it up again.

God forsake those that stand in my way of ultimate gratification.

You may regret me, but you'll never forget me.

Use or Be Used, there are no other options...

Confused the second in the series...

You didn't honestly think you could get rid of me just yet, did you?

New town, new faces and by far my biggest conquest yet. I will have him. There is no doubt in my mind.

Detective...Breccan...Grant...

His name rolls right off my tongue and drips deep down to my core.

Tall, dark and undeniably handsome.

Seducing is the name of the game, but he's not falling for it... Yet!

Of course that doesn't deter me. You should know me better by now.

The only thing left to do is up the ante'. My cold, dead heart at the center of the prize table, up for grabs to my next victim.

Until it suddenly starts to beat again.

Don't panic, I know I'm not. Temporary malfunction, that's all! Nothing more, nothing less.

My heart must be confused. Simply. Fucking. Confused

Understood the third and final in the series...

My finger is on the trigger… Steady. Aim. Fire.

I'm determined to finish what I've started.

I am a lot of things, but a quitter isn't on the list.

I'm not asking for love, hope or even pity.

In fact, if you give me any of those things, it may be you with the gun aimed at your heart.

All I've ever asked is to be UNDERSTOOD…

Unfortunately, if anyone ever does, they'll be the one who ends up taking the bullet!

Follow Kate to see what she has in store...

Excerpt from Need (Finding Anna, Book 2) by Sherri Hayes

He smiled warmly as he turned to leave for work Wednesday morning. I blushed as he grazed my cheek with his fingers and he told me to have fun with Lily. As I watched him leave, I traced my lips with my index finger. I could still feel the ghost of his pressing against them.

I closed my eyes as I leaned against the back of the couch and remembered last night. It had started out to be a kiss just like all the others, but then he somehow managed to turn me so that my legs were on either side of his. I was straddling him.

He’d encouraged me to touch him. Touch him in any way I wanted. My hands found their way into his hair.

I was unsure. While he’d never had a problem with me touching him, it was something that was very new to me. Ian hadn’t allowed much touching unless it was to service him. A few of the men he’d given me to had liked to be touched, but they always told me where to touch them and what to do. Ste . . . Stephan hadn’t given me instructions.

I remembered my hands in his hair as his fingers traveled up and down my back over my shirt. It was amazing how wonderful it had felt. How wonderful it always felt when I was in his arms.

My breath caught as I remembered how his hands had held tightly to my hips before he pressed me hard against him. I’d felt his arousal through the thin layer of his dress pants.

The moment I felt that unmistakable bulge of want and lust, I’d frozen. I’d felt the panic begin to take over.

He abruptly pulled away from my lips and he made me look at him. I could still hear his voice. Still feel his breath against my lips. “Not until you ask me, Brianna. Not until you ask.”

He’d held us both perfectly still until I’d calmed down. Then, he told me that he needed me to understand how much he wanted me and that he hoped one day I’d let him show me.

I hadn’t known how to respond, but he didn’t seem to need one. Instead, he proceeded to place soft kisses all over my face and then down my neck to a spot just behind my ear.

His mouth kept moving at an unhurried pace over every inch of exposed skin on my face and neck.

My face flushed just remembering it.

After a few minutes, I had started to forget about the part of his anatomy I could feel between my legs. The only things that I could think about were his lips. His tongue. And what they were doing to me. He always seemed to be able to make me feel things. Good things.

The problem was that even now, remembering, I had no idea what it all meant. Everything was very new. Although I liked it, I was scared.

No matter how hard I tried, my thoughts about the previous night continued throughout the morning. I tried to read, but after spending an hour looking at the same page, I stopped and set it aside.

There on the nightstand was the journal he’d given me. My journal.

I reluctantly picked it up. Its pages were fresh and new, just waiting to be filled, so I began to write.

Surprisingly, the words spilled out onto the page. Everything I’d been feeling. My fears. The strange reactions I had when he kissed me. How just having him there with me calmed me down. How different he was from Ian.

I was so caught up in my writing that I didn’t notice the time passing. When I looked up, the clock read eleven thirty. Lily would arrive in fifteen minutes. I threw the journal down on the bed and rushed to my closet to find something to wear.

Beats for The Sheets: Sexy Song of The Month, December

The Holiday season is a time when we all crave warmth, but sometimes sensuality isn't cozy. Sometimes, it's laced with desperation. There's something about Dashboard Confessional that conjures the season of winter for me. It could be that I listened to them relentlessly in a long gone winter of my youth. Listening, singing aloud, and pouring my heart out in my freezing cold Ford Tempo--singing to the lights on my dashboard as this artist intended.

Winter can mean holding hands under fleece blankets while drinking hot chocolate and staring at holiday lights, but it can also make the desire to posses another's heart--or body--even more poignant.

We may remember relationships past and long for their return or feel relieved that they are over.

Either way, this song "Screaming Infidelities" evokes emotion in me and maybe it will for you as well.

Enjoy, and have the warmest of holidays.

I'm missing your bed
I never sleep
Avoiding the spots where we'd have to speak
And this bottle of beast is taking me home

I'm cuddling close
To blankets and sheets
But you're not alone and you're not discreet
You make sure I know who's taking you home

I'm reading your note over again
There is not a word that I comprehend
Except when you signed it
"I will love you always and forever"

As for now I'm gonna hear the saddest songs
And sit alone and wonder, how you're making out
And as for me I wish that I was anywhere
With anyone making out

I'm missing your laugh
How did it break?
And when did your eyes begin to look fake?
I hope you're as happy as your pretending

I'm cuddling close
To play it to cheats
'N I am alone, in my defeat
I wish I knew you were safely at home

I'm missing your bed
I never sleep
Avoiding the spots where we'd have to sleep
And this bottle of beast is taking me home

As for now I'm gonna hear the saddest songs
And sit alone and wonder, how you're making out
And as for me I wish that I was anywhere
With anyone making out

Your hair, it's everywhere
Screaming infidelities and taking its wear
Your hair, it's everywhere
Screaming infidelities and taking its wear

Your hair, it's everywhere
Screaming infidelities and taking its wear
Your hair, it's everywhere
Screaming infidelities and taking its wear

Fiery Friday (Author Spotlight: Kahlen Aymes)

Interview with Kahlen Aymes

Q: How long have you been writing erotica and what got you started?

I've been writing sexy romance since May of 2009.  I think I started writing sexy because most books weren't so steamy in general, and it seemed that women wanted more heat in books.  It turns out, they do.

Q: Where do you get your inspiration?

I use music for inspiration a  lot, but mostly, I spend hours walking, thinking up my plots.

Q: Which of your characters would you most likely see yourself dating? Why?

Well, so far, I only have Ryan Matthews.  Alex Avery is written in two books, yet to publish and it's tough to choose!  They are both HOT!  I feel a menage coming on!

Q: If your books were made into movies, which actors/actresses do you see playing your main characters?

Hmmm.. again tough.  Most readers put Jensen Ackles in as Ryan on my Facebook Fan pages.  Alex... he's darker.  It would depend on who was the right age at the time.

Q: What's next for you? Any new releases coming up that we should know about?

After Dark is the next trilogy.  I have two books finished.  The first will publish as soon as I can.

In October, a book called Stories for Amanda (an anthology with 15 other writers) is publishing to benefit the Amanda Todd Legacy Society. (amandatoddlegacy.org). 100% of the proceeds will go to help the fight against bullying.  I'm super excited about it!  Some are doing stand alone short stories and some, like myself, have missing scenes from our series.  I hope everyone will support it.

Q: Is there anything else you'd like us to know about you or your writing?

Well....   I love to write more than anything.  Sometimes I think it's a sickness because I just can't stop.  I love my readers more than I can say!!   They are the true inspiration.

xoxo

The Works Wednesday (Author Spotlight: Kahlen Aymes)

A sexy excerpt from A Love Like This

by Kahlen Aymes

Ryan pulled out abruptly and moved to the edge of the bed, leaving my arms empty, my body bereft, and my heart breaking for both of us. I was still quaking with the aftershocks of my climax, and the air around me felt arctic at his absence. I rolled nearer, my eyes searching for his face, needing to read his expression, but his back was to me, his head dropped into his hands, his elbows on his knees. His body shook violently with the force of his pain, and I could almost smell his tears mixed in with the scent of our sex and his cologne. His quiet sobs were left alone in the silence; sorrow flowing and thundering around me like a violent storm.
He hadn’t let himself come. This wasn’t about sex. It was about love.
Nothing had changed the love; sometimes suffocating, sometimes debilitating, sometimes so joyous and incredible, but always overwhelming and utterly amazing. The mad, mad love remained, maybe stronger and more than it had ever been. Always growing, no matter what we faced. It had always been unconditional, and nothing could ever change it. Not in this lifetime or a thousand more. No matter how much we hurt each other, the love was still strong enough to make us invincible, or kill us both.
Crawling up behind him, I wordlessly slid my arms around his waist, one hand reaching out to wrap around one of his forearms. He didn’t resist or pull from me, but his body was ridged. Tears spilled from my eyes as I tried to find a way to take away the pain I myself had caused. More than anything, I needed to heal the abyss between us, but I felt more helpless than I’d ever been.

Interview with Author Sherri Hayes

Note: This interview was originally posted on Under the Covers Book Blog on July 27, 2012 as part of the Need (Finding Anna, Book 2) blog tour.

What can we expect from Need, the second book in your Finding Anna Series?

In Need, Brianna is confronted with the reality that she’s not a slave anymore, that she’s free. She has to figure out, not just what that means for her, but for her and Stephan as well.

What research did you need to do for your Finding Anna Series? What made you think of writing a book based in BDSM?

I had to do quite a bit of research for the series. Staring out, I knew next to nothing about BDSM. I’d read a few online stories, but that was about it. I started with online research, and then as I continued writing, I met some people in the lifestyle, and would run things by them when I needed to. There is one chapter in Need where I spent almost eight hours on Skype with a Master going over every detail to make sure the phrasing and positioning was right.

Reading Slave and Need was very emotional, did you find it the same when you were writing it?

Yes, especially writing Brianna’s point of view. She makes me tear up often.

Brianna has survived a lot of trauma and has barely made it out intact, and seems very fragile. How did you know when to push her to do more with Stephan, without it looking like he is taking advantage?

It had a lot to do with Brianna herself. Aside from the initial kissing, Brianna has been the one to push more, in my opinion, than Stephan. He may have initiated things, but he’s also always willing to stop, step back, and give her more time or whatever else she needs. I think his willingness to do just that has also helped in it not appearing that he’s taking advantage.

How many books are you planning in the Finding Anna series and have you got it all planned out?

There are four books planned. I don’t outline my stories, however, I do have a rough plan in my head on what is going to happen in the next two books.

Will you ever be writing a book showing us Lily and Logan's story?

Doubtful. I love Lily and Logan, but they’re story hasn’t called to me like Stephan and Brianna’s.

Can you tell us what your plans are for the Daniels Brother's Series?

I just finished writing the second book in that series, Red Zone. It’s with my editor right now, and I’m hoping it will be out the first part of next year. Red Zone is Chris’s youngest brother, Gage’s story. I had a blast writing it. Gage stole my heart completely, and Rebecca is perfect for him.

Give us a sneak peek into the day of an author! Do you have a set schedule to write, or do you write when inspiration strikes?

My writing schedule varies depending on what else is going on with my life. I do, however, try to write at least one thousand words on most days, unless I’m editing, and then that takes priority.

Who are some of your favorite authors, and what books of theirs do you recommend we give a whirl?

I love Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander Series. Jamie Fraser has to be one of the best romantic hero’s ever written. With what said, Alexander from The Bronze Horseman Trilogy comes a close second in my opinion. I think both of these series are must-reads. I also happen to like Susan Andersen, but I prefer her earlier work. My favorite is Shadow Dance, which I believe was her debut novel.

Beats for the Sheets: Sexy Song of the Month (November)

It's November. The air is cool, the days are short. At least that's how it is here in the Northeast. It's a perfect time of year to lay in bed, snuggled under a blanket with someone you love (or with a sexy book to read!).

As I was preparing this post, it made me think of a scene from my novel The Righteous and The Wicked, which will be released in May. I thought I'd share it with you:

"Emma awakes, caged in Eric’s arms. They tether her in place, and she doesn't object to the sensation. Sighing with contentment, she snuggles deeper beneath the blankets with him, but then a horrible reality makes itself known.
It’s Monday.
She rolls over to face him, and his lips touch hers, though his eyes remain unopened. Emma giggles at his zealousness. The first thought Eric has is a wish to wake up to that sound from this day on. He squints at the clock, and then flops his head back down on the pillow, knowing Emma will have to leave.
“You should quit your job.” He yawns.
Emma gets up from the downy bed, leaving her place beside the remarkable, and gorgeous, half-naked man. She pulls his T-shirt off her body and tosses it at him. He holds it to his nose, breathing in her lingering perfume.
“And do what? Become your personal sex slave?” She teases.
“Yes. That is exactly what you should do. It’s your calling in life.” He teases her back, but then becomes serious. “You should call in sick. Stay with me, Emma.”
The way he speaks to her is so tempting. The way it sounds when he says her name . . . it’s like she’s never heard it spoken before, by anyone, until now. After several attempts at saying good-bye, she dresses and makes her way home through the blanket of the morning mist."

The song I've chosen for the month of November is "Sweet Avenue" by Jets to Brazil. This song is slow and sweet and the lyrics reflect the gratitude that comes when you have finally found the person who completes you. The person who brings out the best version of you. Everything shines brighter and everything is possible.
So snuggle up with the one you love, or a great erotic novel, and give this song a listen.

"Sweet Avenue" Lyrics:
tasting you in rain I walk down to the train
try not to look down
this day could some day be an anniversary
everything is light and sound
facing forwards going slowly wait for you to show me
where this train wants to go
living by the hour I stop for every flower
everything is soft and slow
now all these tastes improve through the view that comes with you
like they handed me my life
for the first time it felt right
thank you for making me see there's a life in me
it was dying to get out
holding you we make two spoons beneath an April moon
everything is soft and sweet
this cigarette it could seduce
a nation with its smoke
crawling down my tired throat
scratches part of me that's purring
softly stirring
I'm a captain of industry smoking famously
feet up on the windowsill
looking at all these trees I feel affinity with
everything so soft and still
budding at my fingertips
touching you I start to bloom
alive with trains and passing ships
soft and sweet along your lips now
I go "oh wow"
thank you for taking me from my monastery
I was dying to get out
with tears of gratitude
I like my latitude
cross town train to you
now all these tastes improve
through the view that comes with you
like they handed me my life for the first time it felt worth it
like I deserved it.

Sweet, right? Do you have a song you think deserves to featured as sexy song of the month? Leave a comment!

Beats for the Sheets: Sexy Song of the Month

It has been said that music is what feelings sound like. Music can inspire or excite. It can lull us into calm. It can make us feel sexy. It can incite desire. I know I'm not alone when I say the right song can make an intimate moment even more special.

Each month, I will be sharing a song I find erotically "inspiring". This month that song is "Hot Like Fire" by The XX.

I listened to this band while writing my erotic novel, THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE WICKED. The male and female voices are a perfect compliment to each other. The melody of this song is slow and steady. The lyrics reflect a desire to move beyond just kissing, but waiting can be the most delicious torture. Give a listen...

"You're hotter than a summer's day in California
You got me melting like a sundae, I want you
I know you've been waiting, you've been waiting a long time for me.
If you wait a little while longer this is how it'll be.

Oh, it's gonna be
Hot like fire.
Take you higher.
You can't resist,
Kiss, kiss, and kiss and kiss and kiss and kiss...

You shouldn't have said 'take our time'
I'll let you know when I'm ready, if that's alright
I won't keep you, I won't keep you, I won't keep you holding on
But if you wait on me I promise you it won't be long.

I'm gonna make you
Hot like fire.
Take you higher.
You can't resist,
Kiss, kiss, and kiss and kiss and kiss and kiss..."

What do you think? Will this song make your playlist? Do you know a song that deserves to be featured in Beats for The Sheets? Answers are welcome in the comments.

See you next month...keep it sexy.

Fiery Friday (Author Spotlight~Kristine Cayne)

Interview with Kristine Cayne

Q: How long have you been writing erotica and what got you started?

A: I started writing erotic romance at the beginning of 2012. I'm been writing romantic suspense for several years and loved it (still love it), but I got the itch to delve deeper into the sexual side of my characters. I wanted to explore various kinks and fetishes. What better way to do that then with some very high-octane adrenaline junkies? This is why I decided to write firefighter erotic romance with suspense elements or as one reviewer called it: firefighter erotic romantic suspense. :)

Q: Where do you get your inspiration?

A: For this series, I get my inspiration in a couple places.

For the firefighter aspects, I get it from real-life firefighters, those in the news and those I am in contact with who are so generous in answering all my questions.

For the erotic aspects, I do not claim to have done it all. I write fiction not autobiographies. :) I read articles, watch videos, talk to friends and people in the lifestyle about their experiences. It's a fascinating world, and whatever I can think up, there's someone who's done it!

Q: Which of your characters would you most likely see yourself dating? Why?

A: I love how strong, yet sensitive Jamie is, but I'm not sure our personal styles would gel well. On the other hand, I think William would be just right. I'd shake him up a bit, he'd shake me up a bit. We'd be great together. But alas, he already has Dani. LOL

Q: If your books were made into movies, which actors/actresses do you see playing your main characters?

A: Oh, that's a tough one.

Jamie Caldwell: Stephen Amell
Erica Caldwell:Sienna Miller
Dani Harris: Sophia Bush
William Caldwell: Henry Cavill

Q: What's next for you? Any new releasing coming up that we should know about?

A: I'm actually working on a short story/novella for a paranormal anthology. This is will be my first attempt at paranormal romance and I'm really excited about it. The anthology should release by Hallowe'en.

I'm also working on Deadly Betrayal, the third book of my Deadly Vices series. I'm targeting to release it before Christmas. We'll see what happens. It's a very complicated story, so writing it has been a huge challenge.

Q: Is there anything else you'd like us to know about you or your writing?

A: As I briefly mentioned, I also write romantic suspense. There are currently two books in my Deadly Vices series: Deadly Obsession and Deadly Addiction. I also have a free short story called Guns 'N' Tulips that will give you a taste of my writing. Enjoy!

The Works Wednesday (Author Spotlight Kristine Cayne)

From the desk of Kristine Cayne:

Aftershocks (excerpt):

Jamie and his team dropped to one knee as a violent aftershock shook the building. Time seemed to slow and Jamie’s attention was drawn to a crack in the ceiling. Christ, no!
They were so close to victory. Let him be wrong. The groaning of the building as it swayed was so loud, he almost missed his wife’s frantic words over the radio. “Be safe, Jamie.”

“Rickie, are you all right?”He watched, his limbs paralyzed by horror, as a massive concrete support column from the north side of the building buckled. The I-beam it was holding up toppled with it, crashing down directly over the location of his wife and child.

Her loud scream filled his faceplate, and he knew he’d hear it until the day he died. The connecting wall and ceiling crumbled and thousands of pounds of construction material pounded down over the area in the beam’s wake. A roar tore through his throat as he imagined their bodies mangled and trapped under the weight. “Rickie! Chloe!”When she didn’t reply, his heart broke, unable to believe things would end this way. It couldn’t be. This couldn’t happen. Then he heard it. So soft, so final. “I love you.”

“Rickie!” he screamed again. “Rickie!” Oh God. No. Determined to get to her, to Chloe, he took off at a run, charging through the fallen structures.Until strong arms dragged him back. “Jamie. It’s too unstable. Remember your training.”Drew’s calm voice pissed him off. “Fuck my training. My family is there. I’ve got to save them.”

“I know. They’re my family too. But you can’t do it this way.”Jamie looked down at his younger brother. He was solidly built, but not as tall as Jamie. “Who’s going to stop me?”

A hand clasped his shoulder. “I will.”

His heart sank. If push came to shove, Hollywood could probably take him. Fuck. “Come on, guys. You can’t expect me to just stand here and wait for them to die. We’re the damn technical rescue team. Let’s do our jobs and rescue them.”

Hollywood clapped him on the back. “Now you’re talking. But we aren’t charging in there like jackasses on meth.”

Under His Command (excerpt):

Something soft and cool slid over Erica's eyes. “What’s this?” she asked, reaching for it.

“Shh… It’s just a blindfold. To heighten your senses.”

Like she needed her senses heightened? He’d already taken her places she’d never been. “I’m not sure about—”

Jamie's hand smacking her butt cheek completely derailed her train of thought. “Did you just slap me?”

“That was a spank. Now turn around.” He tied the scarf over her eyes, plunging her into darkness.

She really should resist, tell him to stop. Something. But she didn’t. “Okay. Why should I let you spank me?” she asked. So far this night had been like nothing she’d expected. Jamie was skilled and unpredictable. And she was genuinely curious.

“Because you love it.” His fingers trailed down the crease between her cheeks and dipped into her. Her body convulsed, pushing against his hand to take more of him. What was it about fingers that felt so darned good?

Another smack, this one a little harder, had her trembling. “See how wet you are? How good it feels?” he said.

He was so right.

Everything Bared (excerpt):

William lowered his head, pausing when their lips were a mere breath away, and whispered, “For the record, I’m very happy you came to see me.”

Danielle's lips parted as if she were going to respond, but he didn’t give her a chance. He melded their mouths together, his tongue sweeping against hers in an erotic dance that brought back all his pent-up desire in seconds. His cock hardened at the taste of her, the scent of her, the feel of her in his arms. Her moans flowed through him, fueling him. He needed to touch her, to have her skin against his. Now.

After a quick glance to make sure the door was closed, he dragged her around his desk and sat in his chair. Her eyes blazed as she straddled his lap. No words were spoken. No words were needed. His hunger for her had to be as evident as hers for him.

Wrapping his hands around her slim waist, he yanked her against his chest. His cock nestled at the apex of her thighs. She ground against him, increasing the pressure, driving them both mad. “I love seeing you in uniform,” he murmured against her lips. The dark blue of her house pants and shirt set off the creaminess of her skin, and her eyes stood out like two perfect Godiva chocolates.

“Wait until you see me in my bunker gear,” she teased, and he wanted to eat her all over again.

But Danielle seemed to have something different in mind. She squeezed her hands between their bodies and began to tug at his belt. “I love seeing you in these fancypants suits. Do you have any idea how hot you look? Those Armani models have nothing on you.”

She paused in her efforts to undress him and traced the erection that ruined the perfect line of his trousers. He groaned and laughed at the same time. “I’ve got a lot of suits.”

“Thank God.” Leaning in, she licked his chin and pressed her lips to his in a scorching kiss that threatened to make him explode on the spot. Finished with his belt, she popped the button and went to work on his zipper.

When her hand slipped inside his pants and snaked down to grip his cock, he let his head fall back. A groan tore through his clenched teeth. “Your hand feels so fucking good.”

Her chuckle had his eyes snapping open. “What?”

“You cursed again. It’s cute.”

This was the second time she’d laughed at him about swearing. Did she think he was a wimp? Not as tough as her firefighter coworkers? Perhaps it was time to teach her a lesson, give her a taste of the man beneath the veneer. “Cute, Ms. Harris?” he said, pinning her with a glare, his voice low and controlled. “Would you like to know what I plan to do to you?”

Her smile faded.

“I’m going spread you out on my desk and pound my cock into your sweet pussy. I’m going to fuck you so hard, you’ll scream. So hard you’ll come until you’ve got absolutely nothing left.” With her legs wrapped around his waist, he pushed to his feet and shoved his papers aside as he lowered her to the polished surface of his desk. “Still think I’m cute?”

Eyes-wide, mouth slack, she shook her head. He fought the urge to grin.

“Good.”
